General Electric CompanyOne River Road Schenectady, NY 12345 Dear Susan: Enclosed is a copy of the statement received from Bond, Schoeneck & King, attorneys for General Electric. As we discussed by telephone, this statement relates to our efforts to obtain a copy of the transcript of the administrative hearings in the Hudson River controversy. When we discussed this matter by telephone, I pointed out that we have undertaken in excess of 360 hours of research in obtaining sales data which you requested. Because of internal staff limitations, we were required to hire temporary employees in order to comply with your request. These outside employees cost Monsanto $6.25 per hour, or a total of $2,250.00 actual expense to Monsanto. When we discussed this matter, I pointed out that we felt the charges of Bond, Schoeneck & King were excessive, particularly that portion attributed to time. In these circumstances, I suggested that it might be appropriate . for Monsanto'to submit a bill to General Electric for the expenses incurred in providing the information which you requested. You advised me that you would discuss this matter with Mr. Donnelly, and attempt to obtain an appropriate adjustment to the Bond, Schoeneck & King statement. I have not yet heard from you in that regard and would request your advice at an early date. By copy of this letter, I am advising Mr. Pittarelli that we have received his statement, and that we will communicate with him as soon as we have a response from you. Very truly yours, JRGO:eb cc: Mr. Anthony R. Pittarelli Gentry Ortiz PCB-ARCH-EXT0375974 CHARLES A. SCHOENECK, v WILLIAM F. FITZPATRICK TRACY H. FERGUSON LYLE W. HORNBECK CHESTER H. KING, JR. N.
