pu r po s e o f t e s t : To produce a nutsch-cake product that will give thin slurries at 27.5$ concentration in ABU processes by omitting'Product BCO from the isolation step. Slurries made from this type of OCPNA were thinner than those made with, normal production.
r es u l t s OF TEST: pour charges of OCPHA (Nos. 248,250,255 and 254} were made without Product BCO in the drowning (precipitation) tub water. The product analysis was normal on F.P. (107.1C) and- Diazo Ihsol,(good to better than standard). Solid contents (paste purity) averaged 45.9$ (range 36.1 to . 58,5$) which was on the desired range.
One advantage in using no Product BCO in the drowning tub is a reduction in the amount of foaming occuring during this step, thus improving' the nutsch operation.
r ec o mmen d at io n s : if more material containing no Product BCO is needed by ABU this method is satisfactory for LPA Ho. 1 use.
Since Product BCO is not necessary in OCPBTA which is to be dried,., it is recommended it be eliminated from OCPNA made for dry use.
