Chicago Ctty'Council Enacts Ordinance on Lead Content The Chicago City Council enacted stringent ordinances February 24 re lating to the ure of lead and other heaw metals in paints. Effective July 1, tliese ordinances ben tiie sale or use of any coating con taining more than .061 lead on in terior surfaces or objects (toys, furni ture) exposed to children.
