Program agenda and Topic/s that ECHA is expected to present: The program of the Polish Chemistry Congress is comprehensive and addresses a broad range of topics relevant to the chemical industry, including extensive discussions on environmental and energy policies of the EU. However, we would like to invite the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) to join the panel discussion on the proposed universal PFAS restriction. In this panel, we plan to facilitate a dialogue among various stakeholders to discuss the broader concepts of safety. Participants will explore the technological and operational challenges associated with the search for sustainable alternatives, finding the right balance between process and product safety, and health and environmental concerns related to the use of PFAS. We will also consider how PFAS restrictions might affect the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, we aim to discuss "The Global Dimension of EU PFAS Restrictions: Understanding the International Effects of These Regulations." Given ECHA's leadership role in preparing recommendations and the ongoing review of comments received during the public consultation phase, your perspective would be extremely valuable. We are also interested in learning how the PFAS experience can inform other broad restrictions envisioned in the ECHA regulatory roadmap. Participation of an ECHA representative in the panel is technically feasible online; however, given the significance of the discussion, we would greatly appreciate your presence in person.
