(A IS PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Sorayed Limpet Asbestos is a scien tific b i~t ot carefuliy selected asbestos fibers 2*c an morganic binder. p3C2ged in 3 erv' norous form, it is fed into a patented machine and sorayed in com bination w.;n finely atomized water to form a ' gohweight heat resistant seam less fe.t: *e coating. It will adhere to any clean surface and after application can be weatherproof'd m the sam* .manner as any ctner conv 'nt.cr.a! blocs ; biar-set msu ation. Limpet >s orcdLCeo :n twc types; wmte and cue. Wmte Limpet, made of amosite ascestcs. has a tem perature limit of 7C0:F. 3-ue Limoet (slightly more expensive) is crccidclite asbestos and has a 'ecommenoed tem perature limit of 13503F. SPRAY PROCESS The Scayed Limpet Asbestos process of insulation consists of spraying dry. asbestos fice-s from the nozzle of a specially resigned gun, in coniunction with a fire-.y atomized mist of water. The water rn.ias with the asbestos fiber be fore it --nrges on the surface being insulated, forming a semi-plast;c coat ing. This Scrayed Limoet Asbestos coat ing is pressed to conform to the contour of the underlying structure. The coating dries out naturally and rapidly, without artificial heating, and serves to combine tne important cnaracteristics of sriciency and strength with durability and o-easing appearance. APPLICATION AND USES Limpet "as been successfully applied to steam a*S gas turbines, boilers, duct work. rote-/ digesters, precipitators, fan housings, storage tanks, valves, tubeturns. o r-g {with a minimum diameter of 10 i.-cnes; and to many ether pieces of equipment where insulation is nor mally required. Vm.iie used primarily as thermal in.suiaticr. for temperatu'as uo to 135C3F Limpet simultaneously o'ev-.ces (ire protection, r.oisa reduction, conden sation control and corrosion prevention. ADVANTAGES Because Limpet is sprayed on. it elim inates :*e necessity for cutting; fitting and pointing joints. It mechanizes the insulation process which to date involves hand application. In most instances it requires less reinforcing than conven tional insulation and. m many cases, no reinforcing at a!!. The following tasie compares its features with ether com mon types cf insulation: FEATURES LIMPET Good "K" Factor...............................................- x Fast Aro.'caticn for large areas.................-xNo cutting or fitting......................................... x Any th:cr.r.ess in one layer................................. x- Fast drying......................................................... x* Clean...................................................................xPerfect ``ace contact on all shapes.................... xMinimum reinforcement.................................... .. On *terge o; cts. because of vibration and r ead *e git. Limpet insulation generally equirts reinforcing on tne bottom and sides. This reinforcing can take the form of welded pins and soeed-wasners or if the weatherproofing finish rsz^irss rein.arcing, the imoedded nexagcnal mesh or cictn may be satisfactory. \ I FINISHES All convent:"a1 types of msu.'tion fn. isres 3re cc~ratio1* with a-d .vi!.' pe'form sat'sfsctc'over L---oet 2-eoeromg on service tcnc.'ticns 3no customer prele'encs tV mesf common cf these t'o-vp- 3"d sr'sy m.'st.cs. r->s' ~etjt cc'^gctec aiuminum. r.arp ceme-: i-msnes. etc. PACKAGING AND PRODUCT DATA Limpet LW.25--Packaged in 34 lb. bogs.
