Sawyer, Capuano, members of their staff, and Environmental Hygiene Services personnel a program for the evaluation of the work place atmosphere for vinyl chloride was discussed and resolved. Following is the pertinent information which was agreed upon as a course of action. 1. ) Two, possibly three, vinyl chloride monitors from the Assonet plant will be checked for their performance and installed in Fogelsville as soon as possible. At least two of these instru ments are now in New Haven. These should be ready for installation by Monday, March 1, 1976. Selection of the sites will be coordinated between Environmental Hygiene Services and Analytical Services. 2. ) Gn a random basis, selected personnel at the Fogelsville plant will be monitored for possible exposure to vinyl chloride ever the entire work period by Environmental Hygiene Services for 30 days. Those personnel selected will be from at least the following areas: a. Cure bay b. Cut-off saw c. Slitter d. Laminator 3.) Included will be samples taken from all ducts leading to the atmosphere to determine how much vinyl chloride is being exhausted from any point source. Where possible, the fire retardants (Phosgard 2XC-20) and FR-2) that have been used in the recent past will be formulated into the product.
