The three sain products produced are Perf-A-Tapa and Sheetrock Jo in t Compounds and Dunbcnd on the one naehine and Rasdi-Kix cocpcund on the other machine. The dumping, mixing and packaging o f these in gredien ts c reates a seriou s du stin g p roble in th is area. The presen t 5200 C.T.K. T;ngbora d u st c o lle c to r does not have the capacity or fle x ib ility to adequately control dusting at a ll p o in ts around the production equipment e s p e c ia lly when both machines are in operation* This c o llec to r dates back to the t h i r t ie s and was tran sferred from another department in 1956 when the p resen t f a c i l i t i e s to manufacture ferf-A-Tape Jo in t Cement were i n s t a l le d . In 1965 equipment to manufacture leadi-KAx Jo in t Compounds was added to tills department but no allowances were mane f o r e x tra dust c o lle c tio n . The nsadi-Mix vent sy ste a was hooked in to tne e x is t in g c o lle c to r system . In 1967 the manufacture o f Duraoorsd began and art-in r.o e x tra f a c i l i t i e s were provided f o r dust c o lle c tio n . 7c orevent contamination of products as Durabono and rexf-A-Iape art not com patible the c o lle c to r cannot be used f o r toe manufacture of Dun.co ad as well a s .the other j o i n t compounds, hence wnec Durabond 1s being made the c o lle c to r is by passed and a l l dust excauated to atmosphere.
