They discussed the organization and purposes of this top level group in organ ized medicine, lestek v. cralley, Ph.D., A.LILA, national president, was the spenker at the February meeting. DR. cralley spoke on the stutus of aiha and outlined future plans for this expanding organization. Gulf Coast AT A dinner meeting of the Gulf Coast Section held December 3, the subject for discussion was "Texas Regulations on Radi ation Exposure." Obituary OLIVER G. STAM, 50, died January 12, 1!>57, at his home in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, after a long illness. He worked many years as an industrial hygienist in New York before he became ill. He was last associated with Union Carbide und Carbon Corporation. Mr. STAM was born in Jonkoping, Sweden and came to the United States in 11)11. Hu was a member of the New Jersey Section of the American Industrial Hygiene Associa tion. Civil Service Positions for Industrial Hygienists THE UNITED STATES Civil Service Commission announces that an examina tion is now open for Industrial Hygienist (Health l'liysieist) for filling positions principally at the Navy Radiological Defense Laboratory, San Francisco, California. The salaries range from $4,525 to $7,570 a year. To qualify, an applicant must have a degree from an accredited college, or an equivalent four years of technical experience, in physics, chemistry, biology, or engineering. In addition, he must have had professional experience in the fields mentioned including experience in health physics. No written test is required.
