It was suggested for the HSC to hand out Holiday safety message brochures through "the unit/craft representatives. Old Business Safety log book replies will be emphasized during the first quarter inspection. Fire permit problem was again discussed. Any source of ignition should have a permit, but all necessary signatures should be on it as called for by the Procedure Bulletin. A question was asked should a permit be required each time a truck delivers cylinders. Units do need to know when trucks are in their area, but individual units will determine what pro cedures are required. If written permits are required, then a work permit rather than a fire permit is preferred for vehicle entry. If fire permit is used, then all signatures are required. New Business On 11/26/84, a concern was raised by a pumper gauger on loading hot P.A. into a truck that contained am acetone heel. LP&S was consulted and the loading was not allowed until the truck was properly decontaminated. This indicates the need for personnel to be informed of what the vehicle previ ously contained. This should be brought to the attention of the Materials Handling safety team so that action plans can be developed that will ensure personnel being aware of potential hazards. The HCN safety team recommended changing or modifying HCN emergency lights so they are more noticeable. Robert Kozlek will work with Mark Riddle to solve this concern.
