yW* I have to aciaoMdgef with thanks, receipt of your
memo of the 10th instant, enclo^Lfig*copy of a minute frca Dr. King de
scriptive of asbestosis.
This minute has been carefully perused, with great interest, by our technical officers and it appears that we will have to watch this problem closely, with the assistance and co-operation of the
i Co,-.Tnon7/eaIth Health laboratory.
Incidentally, Dr. King refers throughout his minute to chrysotile asbestos only, which is a hydrated silicate of magnesia, rhereas our greatest problem at tte moment is with crocidolite, which is a silicate of iron and soda. It is, however, very similar to chrysotile in its fibrous nature and it is presumed tfcBt continued inhalation of tha dust would r*<M*lt in the seme lung condition as with chrysotile.
