The RUBERQID Co. C. R. E. AUG 16 1948 Of Mr* C. J. >Ocrt, Bound Brook (2) August 5, 1948 * ----------------Messrs. Maxwell, High, Gordon, Gerd, Ger-ts--n, (Wot. 8/4/AS) C.c . ju* ____ - - Bosbit CALS3LITS PROGRESS REPORT As por jour verbal instructions of July 3rd we hors ordered sufficient pips covering elds, esres and boss plates to permit operation on tbs 'basis of 70? pipe covering and 30$ block* Delivery is to start three seeks from receipt of order sod to be completed within 3 souths. As tbs new adds are received, so sill place into produc tion and withdree the block pans. All the ass acids are to be manufactured froa the improved type, special alloy, and tdll be ae stamped in order that they may be dis tinguished from the older type. Me are confident that tba special alloy sill materi ally reduce breakage inasmuch as it Is aetuslly 56? stronger; test bar tsnsile strength shove 18,000 pounds par square inch, on the eld and 28,000 pounds per square inch on the as*. Ibe nee molds also have an "aging properly". After 21 days they have a total tensii strength of 35000 pounds por square inch or are 942 stronger than the old type vtoieh do not have this "aging property". Fwtheraore, the special alloy molds havs double ths elongation which means they will be much lees suscep tible to cracking under autoclave tsnperature. the used ed mold port further The 6-iba'bmdr'?ei> Cals be are no?~mj vffig ths 5C bag! carload of blocks are ready. completed and was shipppe July 27th. will be shipped as the Production for July (baaed on 2Dj operating days) at 58$ of list amounted to $17,420.00 of which $640.00 was for sale of Calsilite cement, be have not as yet received July's operating costs froa the Accounting Department. July's production was not aa high ae that for June for several reasons! 1. June-production was based on 22 operating days. Yrs were only able to obtain 202 days in July due to the holiday on the 5th and due to day ehutdom on the 8th because of Powerhouse failure. t 2. V.e placed into production in Juno (and still in use) molds for ID" x Is" P.C. In July wo plaeod in use P.C. molds for 8" x 2", ID" x 2", 12" x li" and 16"*1S". large size P.C. is not aa profitable to run as the small sizes because -- -- a) be lose in autoclave capacity, c.g., -m can only place 2-^19 molds (16" x Is") in an autoclave ear. b) Doe to length of tins required to build up an appreciable <piantity f large sizes it is sometimes several' months before any milling and/'packing is done. In other words, we do not get credit for this production until it is in car tons. The actual "rfnand cartoning is often decs months after this material is delivered from drier and first stored in racks. MJCH01072 01-O2O1S^S me RUBERQID Co. I. Mr. C. E. Wart, B.
