Lewis: I dare say the reason you do not have in your files corres pondence on the subject of the ordering of Ethyl Fluid and tetraethyl lead outside of laboratories, is that this was apparently a three-ring session between Kaley, Calingaert and, myself. I think the simplest way to deal with it at present Is to send you a copy of Calingaert*s memo of March 12. You may wish to talk this over with Kaley, and he may wish you to go over the entire correspondence. However, it would be m y conclusion that he was satisfied to accept the general point of view expressed in Cal*s memorandum. For reasons which I discussed with you the other day, I am perfectly willing to accept this memorandum as a basis for procedure, and provided Mr. Kaley is agreed, the matter might just as well be set up in this manner.
