The EXXON GETTYSBURG completed extensive shipyard repairs on May 28, 1976. Under the terms of our Repair Contract, Newport News Shipyard is respon sible for the cost of repairing any defects in their workmanship or the material installed or fabricated during the recent repair period. Newport News is responsible only for those defects which are discovered within 30 days of delivery of the vessel, and they are not responsible for defects due to normal "wear and tear" or misuse. In order to allow us to request payment from the shipyard for any defec tive workmanship or material, we require your assistance. Specifically, we need to be advised of any repairs accomplished during the recent ship yard period which have proven unsatisfactory. We require a listing and detailed description of any items which you feel are legitimate warranty claims. Please submit this list to me by June 21.
