G and C Petroleum/Ramsey Inspection Date: 04/14/2021
Section I - INTRODUCTION Purpose of Inspection EPA Region 6 inspector Kent Sanborn arrived at the G and C Petroleum, Inc. Ramsey lease west of Cushing, Oklahoma on 04/14/2021 for an inspection of a previous brine discharge site. There were no facility representatives present at the site. The inspection was conducted under the authority of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to assess a previously reported spill from the brine facility. The scope of the inspection is to assess unauthorized discharges and impacts of nearby water resources under the CWA.
Facility Description The facility was a large tank battery complex on the Ramsey Lease. The previous discharge site was southeast of the battery.
Section II - Observations The hillside where the brine spill occurred was covered in grass. There was no evidence of brine seepage. The surrounding creeks around the facility were measured with a calibrated YSI conductivity meter. The total disolved solids (TDS) ranges of 1,000-1,300 milligrams per liter (mg/l) were observed. Background readings in upstream creeks were similar.
