We went ahead and prepared the mats for the reproduction of the report. At this point it occurred to me that I had no knowledge of the number which you might wish to have, or of the manner in which you wish to make use of them. In order to meet your wishes, therefore, I urn sending a typed copy to you for examination and comment, after which, I 3hould like to know how many copies of the report you will wish to have. I enclose also the front cover of the type of report which we supply, since this, with the text, will give you a clear idea of what to expect. I think I should point out that we consider such reports to be the property of the Laboratory, and that they are not to be reprinted without our consent. They are not, of course, to be used in any type of advertising, nor is the laboratory or any member of its staff to be named in that relationship. The reports, however, can be used as evidence of facts which may be pertinent in your dealings with specific customers who may require such evidence. The general character of the scientific report is not subject to much modification. If, however, you have suggestions to make as to changes which might suit your purposes without altering the essential import of the investigation, I should like to have them.
