Reasons for the reduction in respiratory equipment are: 1. Reduction of replacement canisters and cartridges to one month's supply due to the granting of the Stay and the pending of the Court's decision on the Review of the Standard. 2. Reduction of the work force at Aberdeen. 3. Inclusion of a "not over 1,000 ppm" category which allows continuous flow respirators, full or half facepiece. 4. Flexibility of the No. 8176 half facepiece--it can be used for: a. "Not over 1,000 ppm"--continuous flow. b. This mask can be used with a canister, although this combination will be approved for a lower exposure than the full facepiece. c. "Not over 10 ppm"--cartridge. Each plant will be preparing an AFE for items in Sections I and II. Also by copy of this letter, I am asking the plants to submit to you a requisition for items in Sections III, IV, and V. Aberdeen and Lake Charles VCM should charge their orders to their warehouse account (739), and Oklahoma City should charge it to their operating supplies account.
