Monsanto MONSANTO INDUSTRIAL CHEMICAL8 CO. 800 N. Lindbergh Boulevard St. Louis, Missouri 63166 Phone: (314) 694-1000 Dear Sir: We are writing to advise you that Monsanto has adopted certain policies with respect to the further sale and delivery of all polychlorinated biphenyl (PCBs) products including those^old under tradenames such as Aroclor (E* Inerteen Qy, Pyranol and under the generic term askarel. Studies have indicated PCBs may be accumulating in the environ ment. In some instances PCBs have been found in food or in the food chain. Because of Monsanto's concern over this problem, we have discontinued sales of PCBs in all applications except as dielectric fluids for use in transformers, capacitors, and other electrical equipment and components. In the past, Monsanto has sold these fluids direct to transformer repair shops and to any one requiring the fluid for top-up of an Existing transformer. Monsanto has decided to discontinue direct sales to transformer repair shops and for transformer top-up. For your future require ments of dielectric fluids, we suggest you contact the manufacturer of the transformer for which you desire the fluid. We sincerely regret any hardships that this decision may cause you, but it has been taken in an effort to continue to make available these products for important electrical applications. If you have any questions relative to this decision, please telephone (314) 694-2513, or write directly to Mr. Paul Benignus, Monsanto Company, P. 0. Box 14617, St. Louis, Missouri 63178. Very truly yours, T. L. Gossage Marketing Director Specialty Products Group Ai a unit of Monsanto Company 0576983
