The First Quarter Safety and Housekeeping inspection for Oxo/Esters was conducted by the Inspection Team of George Bostick, Jack Richards, Tommy Holder, Harry Robinson and B. J. Sanders on 1/29/85.
The overall condition of the units was good even though a lot of S/D and Capital Projects work was in progress.
The following items need attention:
SAFETY
Oxo (48)
c 1. All fire extinguishers were marked 6/20/84. Need updating.
2. Yellow rubber hoses were used on steamerette hose reels - should be changed to the black Plicord Steel steam hose.
3. Grinder wheels in Maintenance Shop looked bad - need to be replaced.
Esters (56)
1. West side, third floor - steam hose connection needs replacing.
2. East side, second floor - ladder in use; not secured at top.
HOUSEKEEPING
Oxo (48)
1. Scattered materials in pipefitter's area.
2. Insulation material (loose) left over from earlier job.
3. Scaffold rack under fin fan needs to be straightened.
4. Area outside Maintenance shop needs cleaning up.
Esters (56)
General trash and clutter on all levels.

OTHER COMMENTS
1. Oxo/Esters does excellent job of locating trash containers through out the area. Should be done all over T.C. plant.
2. Buckets were used to keep sampling areas clean.
