The approval is based on a toxicity review by Industrial Hygiene and field testing by Maintenance. There are probably other suitable substitute abrasives. Other Shell locations use materials called "Kleen- blast" and "Stan-Blast". If additional substitutes are desirable, please contact me for the industrial hygiene review.
