Brown S'MRPw'KR-i' Hauptt-s. _R. M. Kountz W. E. VOSS H. E. Waldrep H. L. Williams We completed a project scope review session on the solid aroclor expansion with Anniston personnel on December 12. The subject of control room additions and/or alterations was reviewed in some detail. We intend to extend the present 30'x20' control room to the south and provide space for housekeeping functions releasing area to the west of the existing control panels for expansion on this project. However, if we follow this approach no room would be available for future additions. Several suggestions were made, in view of the continued growth c which we expect from this group of chemicals. They are: 1. Rotate the existing chlorinator control panel 90 degrees. This will require rewiring and repiping instruments on this panel. At present a biphenyl still (inactive) prevents us from extending the room due south but we are requesting permission to dis mantle this unit so that we can expand the control room T " in a more logical manner. 2. Minaturize instruments on the existing panels to de crease space and allow for expansion on this project and for future projects. 3. Block off the east section of the control room with a new panel and extend controol room to the east. From a long range view the suggestion of rotating the panel into the new area appears the most promising. Will you review the in strument drawings I gave to you and determine if this is feasible. If required to make a final cost and downtime estimate I suggest you make a trip to Anniston to review at first hand this proposal. W. E. (Bill) Voss is the Plant Representative on the job and H. E. (Sec) Waldrep is CED' s Construction Superintendent at the plant site. I suggest if you go to Anniston you contact and re view this with both Bill and Sec.
