Aroclor 1248 contains polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) which some studies indicate may be environmental con taminants. Since this possibility does exist# Monsanto management decided to discontinue the manufacture and marketing of Aroclor 1248. We also have strongly ad vised our customers not to use Aroclor 1248 in appli cations which will lead to environmental pollution. Disposal must be made by incineration at temperatures exceeding 2000F. The stack gases must be scrubbed to avoid atmospheric pollution. If an adequate incinerator is not available to you# you may send the Aroclor 1248 to Monsanto Company, W. 0. Krummrloh Plant, Sauget# Illinois, Attentions Supervisor Dept. 246.
