At the location where the asbestos and lead litharge will be dumped dry into the transfer carts, a hood will be installed with a 2' x 2' opening on the top. The transfer carts will be pushed inside the hood and the raw materials dumped into the cart through this opening. The capture velocity at the opening will be 100 feet per minute. A side draft hood with a capture velocity of 100 feet per minute will be installed at the scale in the weigh<up area where the lead litharge will eventually be weighed. At the present time, the litharge is being weighed on the mezzanine in the mixing area on a scale with a side draft hood. The litharge is dumped into the opening on top of the Littleford mixer. The two Littleford mixers in operation have exhaust ventilation installed as you have recommended. We are continuing to study the problem of providing improved exhaust ventilation for the laboratory grinders. Temporarily we are connecting the grinders to their own separate dust collection system. This will give better control of the dust generated when grinding. MO-7*7* SCE/ss cc: W. F. Bavinger R. F. Bowers M. F. Bruton, M.D. W. T. Diehl D. L. Eschelbach W. L. Knapp, M.D. E. R. Lombard F. E.
