Date MAY 21, 1979 Over the past several months Dick Couch has been evaluating a material called Thermo-sil as a replacement for the more prevelant uses of asbestos in the PVS department. Thermo-sil is a non-asbestos material somewhat less expen sive than asbestos with superior ability to withstand heat and better wear ability. Mr. Couch is recomnending that Thermo-sil be used as a replacement for asbestos blankets and that Thermo-sil pads be made up to replace felt pads. From a safety standpoint the Thermo-sil is entirely acceptable.
