SUBJECT: Seminar for Physicians on Prevention of Occupational Lead Poisoning Rye Town Hilton Hotel, Port Chester, N.Y. August 30, 31, 1979 This is an advance notice of a day and a half seminar for occupational physicians addressed at the prevention of occupational lead poisoning. This is designed to familiarize physicians with the proper practices aimed at protecting the health of workers in the lead industry. We have already arranged for a lecture on the toxicology oflead by noted lead toxi cologist, Dr. Paul Hammond of the University of Cincinnati, and a presentation by Dr. Sidney Lerner, also of the University of Cincinnati, on the necessary aspects of an adequate occupational medicine program within the lead industry. We will also have discussions on the reliability of analytical information and a full-scale dis cussion, hopefully with OSHA participation,of the requirements of physicians under the new OSHA Standard for Occupational Exposure to Lead. The locale selected for the Seminar is suburban New York City. The Rye Town Hilton is easily accessible from the New York Airports. We will provide two luncheons and a dinner. A noted occupational physician will be a guest dinner speaker. The registration cost will be $150.00 per registrant which will cover the cost of all materials, meals and faculty costs. We feel that this program will be especially attractive to physicians who are employed part time by companies in the lead industry. As space is limited, we are advising only LIA members pt this time. However, if space becomes available, we will invite participation by physicians associated with non-member companies using lead.
