Recent evidence suggests that while these hazards may be signifi cant, conversely they may be sharply reduced or eliminated by . appropriate remediable measures. The Academy's Division of Environmental Sciences is therefore con vening a forking Group on Insulation Industry Hygiene to consider the steps necessary to formulate an appropriate Industrial hygiene program for this important industry. Experts from Industry, Labor, Government and Academic Institutions will participate; . Industry representatives will include leading executives of the Johns-Manville Corporation, the Oeens-Corning Fibertflas Corporation, the Certain-teed Products Corporation and others as well as repre sentatlve* of the Quebec Mine Producers Association and the Insula tion Distributor Contractors national Association: Labor represen tatives will include the President and appropriate staff members of the International Association of Heat and ?yost Insulators and , Asbestos Worker** while Interested government agencies will include the Jolted States Public Health Service and the United States Bureau of Mines. The Working.Grcup will meet at the Academy on May 14, 1968 at 9 AM. It is planned that the discussions will be completed by 5:30 PM; luncheon will be served at the Academy.
