CmeMit \l Mam fact; KtKs Ami >u\tio\ 26 July 1996 Dear Vinyl Chloride Health Committee Members: The following items are enclosed for your review and discussion on the conference call scheduled for Wednesday, July 31,1996 at 10:00 a.m. EDT. 1) agenda for the upcoming conference call; Please refer to materials in the package dated June 18,1996 for more information related to the agenda. 2) a proposal from Dr. Gino Scarano of the International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) regarding the Vinyl Chloride Health Committee's participation in ILSI's genotoxicity case study initiative; ILSI is interested in hearing from the Committee about participation in their project which will "address the question of whether and how genotoxicity data should be used as part of a cancer risk assessment." You may recognize some of the names on the attached list of participants. ILSI also is seeking funding sources for the project. 3) reviews of the University of Louisville Brain Cancer Case-Control Study by Drs. Harvey Checkoway and Gary Marsh; These reviews have been sent to Dr. Carlo Tamburro. Dr. Tamburro will be incorporating the reviewers' comments, as appropriate, into his final protocol. I have invited Dr. Tamburro to participate on the conference call to respond to any questions that the Health Committee may have. 4) Interim Report #4 from Dr. Ken Mundt of Applied Epidemiology, Inc. on the study entitled "Update of Mortality Among Vinyl Chloride Workers"; Dr. Mundt also has been invited to be on the call to provide a verbal report on the status of the study and answer any questions that the Committee may have. 5) the draft Vinyl Chloride Health Committee report for the CHEMSTAR Annual Report.
