Andrews AANDR \ The National Fire Protection Association has drawn the attention of the Manufacturing Chemists' Association to the fact that a number of MCA Chemical Safety Data Sheets on flammable materials do not indicate the (potentiality of the material to polymerize or react violently under fire conditions and pressure rupture of tank cars, tank vehicles or large above-ground storage tanks. . The MCA Safety and-Fire Protection Committee has been (requested by the Association to inquire of the producers information on the hazards which may develop because of reaction or polymerization when these materials are exposed to fire. The MCA would like such information on the following flammable liquids which are produced by your division's plants. It would be greatly appreciated if you would have your people secure this information and send it to my attention for subsequent transmittal to the MCA.
