Texas 76645 CBmiffiBB PIPING & PLASTICS INDUSTRIES RESPIRATOR PROGRAM Respirators of the approved type shall be worn by employees at this plant as and when required to comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Standards as stated in Federal Register Part II 1910.93a for asbestos dust (and any other related requirements as they are published). In addition any employee may choose to wear a respirator, or be required by his foreman to wear a respirator, even if conditions .do not require it as . stated above. However, the respirator used must be of the approved type. The Company doctor will ensure that all employees are fit enough to wear a respirator as part of his medical examination. After sickness, the doctor will again ensure ttat the employee is fit enough to return to work and wear a respirator. Procedure 1. The supervisor will Instruct the employee on the use, proper fitting, filter changing and care of the respirator. 2. Respirators are to be sterilized and stored in individual plastic bags. 3. After use, or at the end of the shift, the respirator is to be returned for cleaning, sterilizing, filter change and resealing, ready for re-issuing. 4.
