Figure 1 (cite 3): Crossover leak as a function of humidity cycles during inert RH cycling of Nafion NR-111 (S) and hydrocarbon and partially-fluorinated hydrocarbon membranes. Line at 10 sccm indicates test failure criteria. Note (by cellcentric): severe leakage of the hydrocarbon membranes is apparent after a few cycles up to 300 cycles of operation.
Figure 2 (cite 4): Gas crossover at 20.68 kPa differential nitrogen pressure across the membrane measured during the humidity cycling test on Nafion 112 and BPSH membranes. The RH was cycled between 100% for 1h and 0% for 1h at 100C and 150 kPa. Note (by cellcentric): massive leakage ("gas crossover") of the biphenyl sulfone hydrocarbon membrane is apparent after 40 hours of operation.
