DREWES HAWED AN ASSISTANT SECRETARY Alfred H. Drewes, assistant to the President, was appointed an assistant secretary of the Company at the July 29 meeting of the Board of Directors. In addition to his new duties, Mr. Drewes also serves as secretary of the Metal Sales Committee and as a member of the Administrative Committee of the Company's Profit-Sharing Plan.
RECENT APPOINTMENTS AT PACIFIC COAST BRANCH Harold E. Keenan has been named Comptroller of the Pacific Coast Branch, succeeding G. H. Sondhaus. Mr. Keenan joined the Company in 1924. He was appointed assistant Comptroller of the Branch In 1939. Harold B. Renshaw and Alfie E. Colley have been named assistant Comptrollers of the Branch. Mr. Renshaw started in 1928 In accounting work at Spokane. Mr. Colley began his service at Los Angeles in 1929. Kenneth C. Specht, for the past three years manager of industrial sales for the Pacific Coast Branch, has been appointed assistant manager of the Southern Division of the Branch. Mr. Specht Joined the Company In 1935. W. C. Kinsinger, who has been handling industrial sales at the Portland office of the Branch since he joined the Company in 1943, has been appointed industrial sales manager on the coast, succeeding Mr. Specht.
CARNEY, LOUISVILLE MANAGER, RETIRES George B. Carney, who has been manager of the Louisville office of Cincinnati Branch for many years, retired from active service on July 1. Mr. Carney started work with the Company as an office boy in 1892, thus he retires with an impressive record of 55 years of continuous service.
HUNDLEY PASSES 40TH SERVICE MILESTONE Ho W. Hundley, Cincinnati Branch Manager, observed his 40th service anniversary July 10. The occasion was highlighted by a luncheon given in his honor by his associates. Mr. Hundley*s service began In the Cincinnati office of the-United Lead Co. Starting as a stenographer, he became a salesman and then assistant manager. In 1918 he was made manager of the United Lead Cincinnati office. Upon the consolidation of United's business with National Lead in 1928, Mr. Hundley was appointed assistant manager of the Company's Cincinnati Branch. Advancement to manager came in 1943.

DEATH CLAIMS CHICAGO BRANCH VETERANS H. C. Kirkwood, assistant comptroller at Chicago Branch prior to his retirement June 1, 1946, after 35 years with the Company, died July 25 at the age of 70. Starting his service with the U. S. Cartridge Co., Mr. Kirkwood was made sales manager of the ammunition department of Chicago Branch In 1935. He was appointed assistant comptroller In 1937.

survived by his widow, Edna Jean Bowers, his mother, Mrs. Mae Bowers, a sister and a brother.
HOHMANN HEADS CLEVELAND PAINT SALESMEN Harry F. Hohmann, Cleveland Branch salesman, was recently elected president of the Cleveland Paint Salesman*s Club. He previously had served as treasurer.
ST. LOUIS PAINT GROUP GIVES SHEPHERD NEW POST
Ed J. Shepherd, sales representative of the St. Louis Branch has been named secretary of the St. Louis Paint and Varnish Production Club, relinquishing his Job as treasurer.
PITTSBURGH SALESMEN HONOR STANFORD A. D. Stanford, of the Pittsburgh Branch sales staff, has been elected president of the Pittsburgh Paint Salesmen's Club.
MICHAEL RE-ELECTED BY CREDIT MEN Walter A. Michael, cashier of the Buffalo Branch, was re-elected chairman of the industrial group of the Credit Men's Association of Western New York at a recent meeting of that organisation.
