Recently you received copies of letters sent to our A/C and PVC Customer Service Managers and District Sales Managers in reference to the new NonStandard Product Warranty and A/C Epoxy-Lined pipe Disclaimer. Attached to the letters (dated 5/30/78 and 5/31/78) were samples of the Warranty and Disclaimers.
Errors have been found in the Warranty and disclaimer which render them invalid. Attached are the correct versions.
The plants and sales offices have been notified of the errors, and corrective measures have been taken.

Owing to the wide1y .varying conditions under which Certain-Teed 1s products are installed and used, this company cannot be and is not bound, and no person is authorized to bind this company, by any further warranty whatsoever.
Because Certain-Teed asbestos-cement epoxy-lined pipe will generally t installed for applications marked by the transmission of substances which often prove highly aggressive, CERTAIN-TEED DOES NOT WARRANT AND WILL N01 BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY EXPENSES, DAMAGES, OR LOSSES WHATSOEVER CONNECTED WITH OR GROWING OUT OF OR CAUSED BY THE FAILURE OF THE EPOXY-LIb OF ASBESTOS-CEMENT PIPE.
THE FOREGOING WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS ORIMPLIED, ORAL OR WRITTEN, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OP MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN NO EVENT SHALL CERTAIN-TEED BERESPC SIBILE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND INCLUDING/ WITF OUT LIMITATION, ANY EXPENSE FOR REMOVAL OR REINSTALLATION RESULTING FROM ANY DEFECT.

CertalnTeed only warrants to replace, without charge, those non-standard pipe lengths and fittings proven to be deficient with respect to dimensional requirements only within six (6) months of the date of delivery thereof; provided, however, that CertalnTeed has first been given an opportunity to In spect the pipe and fittings alleged to be dimensionally defective In order to determine If the pipe lengths and fit tings meet CertaInTeed1s dimensional specifications. Products sold by CertalnTeed which are manufacturedby others are war ranted only to the extent of and are limited to the warranty of the manufacturer.
