He'll be out of the country beginning the 7th (this is why he can't attend the Bay Exec Council mtg), I'm told between the June travel and budget hearings, it seems sensible to look to July for a meeting. I can submit a generic request up to his office, unless you have a specific date in July/August you'd like to pitch? Thank you for your email, and for chatting with me this morning. It was a pleasure to meet you, and I can imagine the CBC is grateful to have citizen reps like you with - wow -- quite extraordinary qualifications!! Let me get this request up to the Administrator's office and see if there's a time we can connect the two of you. Since you're half a day's drive away, it'd be great if we could combine this with some other opportunity you have to come to DC, If you could give me a general timeframe, that might help us pinpoint a specific date. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing you here at EPA! You guys have an interesting and sometimes tough job in this time of transition. We know that. Your 17cv1906 Sierra Club v. EPA - 6/22 Production ED 001523 00002609-00005 openness was noticed and appreciated. As I mentioned after the meeting I am the new citizen appointee to the Chesapeake Bay Commission. I am not an elected official. However, I have been in the environmental field my entire career and am now newly retired (My wife would not agree with me about the retired comment!). I was Gov. Jim Gilmore's appointed DEQ director years ago after working for him as an assistant attorney general. For the last 15 years I have worked for Smithfield Foods ultimately the Executive VP and Chief Sustainability Officer. I currently chair the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and serve as Vice rector of the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors. I tell you all of that because I have acquired a focused and unique view of environmental protection. I have seen it from all sides. We spoke about a meeting with Mr Pruitt. If he is interested so am I. He and the President have great opportunity. I would love to discuss some of this with the Administrator. In any event Andrea I appreciate the time you took to talk to me in this hectic time. Let me know if I need to send you any more information or answer any questions. I have always tried to have productive problem solving discussions with EPA and would love to continue that. Dennis H.
