I hasten, therefore, to tell you how you can get the information you need, and in the form (which X could not supply) in which it will do the most good. The case records of children who contracted lead poisoning in Cincinnati in 1959, with but few exceptions, are in the General Hospital and Children's Hospital files. The extent to which these records, themselves, will be or can be made to be available to you is something X cannot tell you. On the other hand Dr. Hugo Smith at the Children's Hospital has the information on these cases, and X am sure that he will do all he can, and all that is proper, in providing you with the information you require. As to publicity, there have been articles on this subject in the newspapers of Cincinnati from time to time through the years. There were also certain other sources of information, but I would suspect that that which had been made available to the general public through the local press would be the most satisfactory evidence that people, in general, had had the means of knowing about this problem, and should have such knowledge, long before April 1959. X cannot remember, off hand, all of the matters that might be of service to you.
