Hej Jan, tack fr visat intresse fr det aktuella begrnsningsfrslaget fr PFAS.
As you probably are aware of, the proposal is currently subject to a scrutiny by the scientific committees of Echa. We recommend all actors to engage in that process to support the committees in their work.
If and when the Commission prepares a draft amendment to Annex XVII of Reach, Sweden will develop a position.
Yours sincerely,
Jerker Forssell

ASD represents the European aerospace, security and defense industries. Our members include the major European aerospace & defense companies (such as SAAB in Sweden) and national associations representing the sector, such as SOFF in Sweden. In all, we represent more than 4000 companies across 19 European countries.
We reach out to you in the context of the ongoing discussion at European level to restrict PFAS under the EU REACH Legislation. As Sweden was one of the countries who initiated the REACH restriction proposal it plays a key rote in the ongoing discussions at ECHA level.
The ongoing PFAS restriction proposal is a big concern to aerospace & defense industry putting at risk the future of our industries, including defense capabilities and the wider aviation sector of Europe. Attached is a high-level ASD position paper as weil as our detailed ASD submission to the European Chemicals Agency consultation on this topic.
We would highly value an online meeting between ASD and the Swedish Ministry of Environment where we could explain our concerns into more detail on why we believe the current PFAS restriction proposal should be altered to safeguard's Europe's strategic autonomy in aerospace and defense.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Best regards, //Jan
