THE DCW August 9, 1957 UMICAL COMPANY MIDLAND MICHIGAN ''vs Mr. C. W. Taylor D*~ector Interstate Commerce Commission Bureau of Safety and Service Washington 25, D. C. SPECIAL PERMIT 1846 VINYL CHLORIDE UNINHIBITED Dear Mr. Taylor: Due to unforeseeable delays within our own organization In the ship ment of tank cars of uninhibited vinyl chloride between our own manufacturing locations, we are now anticipating that the amount of experience we will have gained by the expiration date of the above permit will not be as extensive as we would like. We have shipped a few tank cars with no evidence of difficulty or deterioration of product, but we would like substantially more experience than we will be able to get in this period. We believe, however, that we could get this additional experience in about two more months. We therefore respectfully request that we be granted an additional two month extension on our special permit 1846. This would carry the expiration date over to January 30. In accord with the provision of the permit granted us we would in case of this extension expect to submit a report on our findings two months before the revised expiration date, or, specifically, by November 30. We hope this will meet with your approval and will await your decision. Very truly yours. W. A. Henson Coatings Technical Service bkp cc: H. A.
