My article, did not state that tetra-ethyl lead poi soning was common, hut it did state that poisoning with tetra-ethyl lead is serious. I see no reason for changing this statement. On the other hand, if there exists any consider able amount of lead poisoning from painting, that^ fact ought to be emphasized more definitely. I will certainly take it up in another article. I am, of course, familiar with your contributions, many of which have appeared in The Journal. Certainly, I feel as you do relative to the hazards of all gasoline and petroleum products. May I again state that I have not the slightest re sentment relative to the discussion of what I wrote, and I welcome comments of the character of your note in order that I may present to the public as often as possible tike most recent scientific views.
