Sanborn visited the Unknown oil and gas facility located at latitude 36.8325 and longitude -96.4999 near Pawhuska, Oklahoma on 12/12/2019 for an unannounced inspection. There were no representatives of the facility present for the inspection. The inspection was conducted by authority of the Clean Water Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act to determine compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. FACILITY DESCRIPTION EPA conducted an observation and inspection of surface monitoring, as required, in the North Bird Creek area of concern. Mr. Bert Fisher, a representative of the operators in this area of concern was on site with me during the observation. Section II - OBSERVATIONS I witnessed company representative, Mr. Bert Fisher, take initial readings of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) at previous EPA monitoring stations 2 and 6. Mr. Fisher documented his field readings, equipment QA/QC processes, and other information as needed. The TDS reading at the previous EPA monitoring station number 2 measured 430 milligrams per liter (mg/L) at 5.5 degrees Celsius. A TDS reading at the previous EPA monitoring station number 6 measured 423 mg/L at 4.8 degrees Celsius. I observed that the water appeared murky at these locations and was flowing slightly.
