We found the business open and operating. I arrived to conduct an unannounced routine pesticide inspection. I met with Ghassan Barakat, the cashier. I presented my credentials to Mr. Barakat and informed him that this was an EPA inspection to review all pesticides available for sale regarding compliance with the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). FACILITY DESCRIPTION Yazen Corporation (dba Quick Way Corner Store) was founded in September 2001. Quick Way Corner Store is a grocery and convenience store. The store has two locations and operates with three employees. The company has annual sales of approximately $3,453,000. Section II - OBSERVATIONS During the inspection, I reviewed the stocked products sold in the store and took photos (See Appendix 1). I observed 18-16.9 oz. (500 mL) bottles of Clorox Bleach labeled in Spanish. Section III - AREAS OF CONCERN I conducted a closing conference at the Quick Way Corner Store with Mr. Barakat at 4:15 PM on June 25, 2024, for the inspection. I notified Mr. Barakat that I had observed several bottles of Clorox Bleach which were labeled in Spanish and did not meet FIFRA labeling standards. The store did not address the product concerns at the time of the inspection. I concluded the inspection and exited the store at 4:20 PM. Section IV - FOLLOW UP No records were collected at the time of the inspection. On July 23, 2024, I was able to make contact with the store owner by email, but I was not able to get the additional documentation required for review at that time. Additional follow-up is required by EPA after exiting the store on June 25, 2024.
