Williams Asbestos Monitoring in Gasket Shop, 512 Construction (Replaces letter of October 20, 1981 - front page only.) Gentlemen: Attached are the results of the area and personal exposure monitoring done for asbestos in the Gasket Shop - laundry, Building 3 of the Construction Department, Institute Plant. This monitoring was done by the Institute Plant Industrial Hygiene group on October and 9, 1981. 2 The last for that the 2 fibers gasket cutting is done infrequently and it would generally a short period of time. The results of the survey indicate asbestos exposure in excess of the permissible limit of per centimeter cube of air did not occur. The workers did not wear a respiratory protective device while working with the gasket material. It is emphasized that all workers wear a disposable 3M #8710 dust respirator which is approved by NIOSH for protection from asbestos exposure.
