I spoke with Dr. Robert Hinderer, B.F.Goodrich Toxicology Labs regarding this matter. I wanted to determine if there were any data in addition to what we discussed. We have not performed any recent studies on our rigid PVC compounds, however, I located test results for Geon 8700A rigid vinyl, extrusion cube compound. The 8700A is similar in properties to Geon 87256. Several years ago, we submitted the 8700A to an outside test laboratory for fungus resistance tests. Test results indicated that this rigid PVC compound is resistant to fungal attack. We would expect the same results with any rigid PVC compound. It was further pointed out from our Toxicology Labs that the only way that fungus could grow on rigid PVC would be if there were food particles or droppings on the profile to propagate the growth. The report that was prepared by the test facility. Industrial BIO-TEST Laboratories, Inc. is quite detailed, however, the following are brief quotes taken directly from the report: "Two specimens of rigid profiles, (extruded fom) 8700A and 8750, were received from the B.F.Goodrich Company for evaluation of mildew resistance according to the procedures specified by the F.H.A. Military specification tests for fungistatic effectiveness (MIL-T-713A) were also performed." 3 O O BFGoodrich The BFGoodrich Company, Geon Vinyl division /6100 Oak Tree Blvd..
