I am pleased to be able to close this project out to this extent and I shall be still more pleased when I have extracted myself from further work on the final report. I regret very much indeed the inconvenience and incompleteness which I visited upon you in terminating our working relationship, but I certainly do not wish you to bear any burden of extra expense occasioned by my action. For this reason I am quite willing to reimburse you for the two thousand dollars of expense. I cannot authorize you to expend further sums, however, in any continuing work. I do not forbid, but I definitely do not wish your doing more. I suggest, therefore, that you send to me any data or pertinent information of any kind which you may have in your hands. So far as X am concerned your ypart in this project has been completed, and the remainder is mine to deal with as I may choose. There is no agency from which I can obtain any further grants 7 for this purpose, and if there were, I would not apply.
