One of the p u r p o s e s of t h i s Committee m e e t in g was t o t r y to a s s e n b l e , and perhaps d is s e a in a c e to the membership, i n f o r a a t i o n on b o o k lets, s lid e programs and o t h e r i n d o c t r i n a t i o n t h a t marchers have g iv e n to t h e i r employees (and to r.aw e a p i o y e e s ) as r e g a r d s c o n t r o l l i n g a s b e s t o s d u s t in the work place. A fu rth e r p art of th is study is to determine what is worthwhile in at-olcyee i n d o c t r i n a t i o n , and what aay be r e o u i r e d t o cotsply with OSHA regulations.
* One n a t t i e r i n d i c a t e d t h a t h i s company had a f o r a a l s l i d e program based on a Johns-Manvilie s l i d e program, to which they had added additional slides . of t h e i r f r i c t i o n a a t e r i a l s f a c t o r y . They have shown t h i s s l i d e program w i t h n a r r a t i v e t o t h e i r employees. They do not show t h i s a u t o m a t i c a l l y to a l l new e a p io y e e s on h i r e . The J-J! s l i d e program c o n c e r n s working with a s b e s t o s in a m a n u f a c t u r i n g environment. This member merges the J-H p r e s e n t a t i o n : r i t h t h e i r own s l i d e s which show a c t u a l o p e r a t i o n s in t h e i r f a c t o r y and soma o f t h e p r e c a u t i o n s used i n c o n t r o l l i n g a s b e s to s i n the workplace. In r e s p o n s e to a q u e s t i o n , t h e S e c r e t a r y was advised chat he could perhaps p u rch ase a copy of this s l i d e prorram from the Johns-lanvtlie C orp o ra tio n in D e n v e r, Colorado. I t was s u g g e s te d t h a t he contact r. d Fenner a t J o h n s - ? ' a n v i l i e . There i s a r e c o r d ( o r ^tape) f o r audio to go w i t h th e v i s u a l program. With such i n f o r m a t i o n i t might be p o s s i b l e f o r t h e I n s t i t u t e to assenble a s l i d e p r e s e n t a t i o n , with audio. I t was not f e l t th a t a r e s o l u t i o n was i n o r d e r a t t h i s p o i n t .
