The Hourly Safety Committee would like to reaind each person in the plant to exercise safety and precaution in using tools. The recently coapleted plant shutdowns found several tools that were unsafe. A handle on a sledge haaaer that was full of holes from termites and an unsafe universal swivel joint for an impact wrench were just a few of the potential hazards waiting in our plant. No one person or group is responsible for inspecting all of the tools in our plant before each time they are used. This would be an almost impossible task! This is why it is important for each of us to inspect and ask ourselves questions about the safety and proper use of tools before using the tool. This is something we all can do to make our plant a safer place to work.
