They also called for standards, harmonise rules for reporting and accounting of emissions captured. They welcomed the platform establishment to have access to reliable data. They see a clear focus of the EU in green H2, but think it has to rebalance the focus on blue hydrogen. You need all types of hydrogen to meet the objectives in the most costeffective way. CCUS should not only be last resort. In EU there are only 6 countries pushing for it and 2 providing State aid. Honeywell would like to sell their technology to all of them. MS are not all convinced on CCUS. More subsidies are needed to build the business case. It is really important to focus on hard-to-abate sectors and provide funding. Some cost effectiveness can be reached by focusing more on blue hydrogen. There also need from European companies to have access to national subsidies. A onestop shop for subsidies is very necessary. Their clients in CCS are mostly energy plants. Honeywell also manufactures PFAs that go into heat pumps. There is a new regulation on fluorinated gases that provides for recycling. In the inter-institutional negotiation and there are some provisions made by the EP including bans. Commission (DG CLIMA) accepted the ban on small engines with a review clause in 2030. In parallel, there is the PFAS chemical regulation (DG ENV and GROW) and Honeywell products are falling into that PFAs definition and Honeywell is concerned about what will happen with their heat pumps.
