Gustin-Bacon Mfg, Company Pittsburgh Plate Glass Cbmpany The Eagle-Picher Company Baldwin - Ehret -Hill, Inc Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corp. NIMA REVISIONS TO FEDERAL SPECIFICATIONS The latest copy of the proposed revisions to Federal Specifications had been circulated to the Committee members prior to the meeting. The day was spent reviewing the specification pertaining to elevated temperatures. It was the consensus that the specification needed to be revised again including nominal density classifications for the products involved. The following information is to be sent to NIMA by the Committee members to be included in the spec: 1* Density classifications - all product types 2. nkM values (max.) for the density classifications involved. 3. Compressive strength (min.) for Block & Board form for the density classifications involved, 4. Breaking strength (min.) for Block Sc Board form for the density classifications involved. 5. Linear shrinkage (max.) for Block Sc Board form and Molded-Type Pipe Insulation for the density classifications involved, 6. Classification of products listed in the specification, whether rigid, semi-rigid and flexible, where tested in accordance with paragraphs 2 4, 3.8 and/or 4. 3.9 of the proposed revision to the specification dated 11/16/60, 7, The alkalinity of the products listed when tested in accordancewith paragraph 4, 3, 3 of the proposed revision to the specifica tion dated 11/16/60, STANDARD FACINGS FOR FELT PRODUCTS It was suggested that NIMA investigate the possibility of standardizing on facings for felt products, ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
