CHEMICALS AND PIGMENTS TECHNICAL SERVICE LABORATORY * CHESTNUT RUN LAB NOTE 81-9 MONASTRAL GREEN G, 6T-674-D - RESTANDARDIZATION Concurrent with consolidation of our phthalocyanine green line, we shall standardize GT-674-D. The new standard will be slightly bluer than its predecessor. This modification, coupled with the introduction of our new yellow shade product Monastral Green Y, GT-860-D (Lab Note 81-8), significantly increases the styling range of our phthalocyanine green line and hence increases its versatility to our customers. In coatings the new GT-674-D standard, under optimum dispersion conditions, is expected to be slightly blue with slight improvements in intensity and transparency. Tinting strength and rheological properties are expected to be unchanged in most coatings systems. For plasties applications the new product is tinctorially close to our current standard and has comparable heat stability. It may, in some systems, be slightly more difficult to disperse. The new standard is expected to be available by 7/1/81.
