For years, our community has faced significant challenges due to our lack of easy access to major transportation routes, and your leadership in championing this project is deeply appreciated. East Spencer has long struggled with a poverty rate higher than both the state and national averages, and our limited access to key highways and roads has contributed to the economic isolation of our town. As a local business owner, I have seen firsthand the struggles that come with this lack of connectivity.
