Dear Dr. Kehoe:
Thank you for your thoughtful comments on my questions concerning the man who alleged that he swallowed leaded gasoline. Could you supply me with a few references on the effects of the ingestion of tetraethyllead, and its metabolism? We wondered if the tetraethyllead molecule might be de-ethyleated in the gut tract or the liver with consequent production of inorganic lead.
Again my best thanks.
Sincerely yours.
