HIQ3TST0WN, NEW JERSEY, JULY 31, 1962 - The new Hightstown
Laboratories of National Lead Company on Wyckoffs Mills Road have
been completed and are now occupied by a research staff of over 150
scientists and technicians. The transfer of the staff from the com
pany's Brooklyn Research Laboratories was completed earlier this week.
Located on a 250 acre site adjacent to the New Jersey Turn
pike, the new facilities provide 87,000 square feet of laboratory,
office and service space which will be devoted to research and develop
ment in the fields of non-ferrous metals, paints and pigments, lead
chemicals, plastics and resins. An official opening ceremony is
planned for September.
Dr. F. Leicester Cuthbert is the technical director and the
assistant technical directors are Walter A. Gloger, Daniel F. Herman,
and Hugo J. Ratti.
National Lead Company, a leading producer of fabricated non-
ferrous metals, chemicals, paints, pigments, alloyB, bearings, die
castings, oil well drilling muds, refractories and other products for
industries, has 84 plants and mines and 16 research and development
laboratories located throughout the country, as well as operations in
13 foreign countries.
