Subject: CAL/OSHA Asbestos Regulations. Title 8 Section 5208, Subparagraph (K), Employee Notification (New Section adopted U/l/77)
Dear Mr Santibanez:
In accordance with CAL/OSHA Asbestos Regulations, Title 8, Section 5208, Subpara graph (l), Employee Notification, notice is hereby given that your exposure of as bestos fibers was in excess of 2.0 limits on February 14, 1983. Six (6) between 45 to 8j minutes, personal air samples were taken. The average asbestos fiber count for the six (6) samples was 2.95 fibers longer than 5 micrometers, (IKA) per cubic centimeter of air. During the time of exposure you were using an ap proved respirator. MESA-NIOSH-No. TC 21C-170
Corrective action shall be taken immediately.
(B) Exhaust ventilation systems are in good working order. Exhaust ventilation ystems are checked each shift, (on-going)
(C) Aspestos spills shall be vacuum cleaned properly, (on-going)
(D) Aijr-flltering respirators are in use and worn in accordance with provisions
off Section 5144. (on-going)
(E) Change room and special clothing will continue to be provided to each em ployee. Employees will be required to vacuum clean their coveralls as it isj needed, (on-going)
(F) Laundering of asbestos-contained clothing will continue in accordance with Section 5208. (on-going)
